Instructions
Ketonia Bread Mix:
Follow the instructions on your Ketonia Keto Bread Mix.
After the first rise, shape dough into a long submarine bread shape.
Let rise on parchment on a sheet pan.
Right before baking, spray with water, sprinkle with parmesan and Italian herbs, score bread, and bake 30 minutes. Let cool.
Meatballs:
Combine all ingredients except water in a bowl. Gently mix with hands adding water (½ cup or more) till soft but not wet or soupy). Mix till thoroughly combined.
Pour 1 jar Sauce into a heavy-bottomed large saucepan or Dutch oven.
Take small handfuls of meat mixture and roll into balls with your hands. Drop into Sauce.
Use all meat and cover with the remaining jar of sauce.
Heat on medium-high till the sauce just starts to boil.
Reduce to low and simmer, checking occasionally for an hour or so till meatballs are cooked through.
Tomato sauce burns easy so keep your eye on it! Now you can either skim the fat off the top or chill overnight and peel hardened fit off the next day.
Garlic Bread:
Mix butter and garlic and spread on bread halves. Broil until toasty.
Slice meatballs in half and arrange over the bottom half of garlic bread.
Spoon sauce over meatballs, add cheeses, and basil.
Set under the broiler till the cheeses melt. Don't broil the top half, it’ll burn!
This is a HUGE submarine. It will feed 2 or 3 easy! Of course, you can make smaller renditions as well!
